Today’s tip: Fishs Eddy, New York
I came across this shop many many years ago and I fell in love immediately. Fishs Eddy is a New York shop that sells delightful dinnerware and crockery and I am always blown away by their creative and beautiful designs.
The flagship store is near Union Square on Broadway and 19th and they also have an outlet in Staten Island. And don’t fret if you cant make it to the Big Apple, you can order from them online too.
They have a wonderful history: lost and driving aimlessly in Fishs Eddy, a small town in upstate New York, they found an old barn full of classic American dish-ware that had survived a fire and bought it.
The shapes and patterns they unearthed beneath the soot, inspired them and still inspire their designs today.
The goods very from vintage and reclaimed pieces, to new ones with classic and clever patterns like dinner plates with New York and Brooklyn skylines, mugs with the heads of influential democrats and stemless wine glasses with beautiful vintage floral motifs.
You never know exactly what you’ll find here with is the best part!
