Today’s Tip: Hotel Victor Hugo
It can be tricky to find a place to stay in Nice. The city isn’t lacking in hotels, but there is a hole in the market. There are plenty of beautiful, upscale, and very expensive ones, and even more scuzzy, grimy, questionable ones but there aren’t all that many in the middle.
This is where Hotel Victor Hugo comes in. This cute litte hotel is in the ground floor of a beautiful, grand old building across from a leafy green park on the elegant Blvd Victor Hugo right in the center of town. Equidistance from the main shopping area and the beach, the hotel is perfectly located.
Giles is the jovial owner of the hotel, and he is passionate about service. He was a concierge at a fancy hotel in Paris for years before breaking out on his own, and has is golden cuff links concierge award proudly displayed above the reception desk.
The spacious, comfortable rooms have kitchenettes and are artfully decorated. Rates start at €75 / night including breakfast for a standard room and can be rented by the week as well.
