Top Travel Tip, La Part des Anges

Today’s tip: La Part des Anges, Nice France

la part des Angles

Finding a good place to eat in Nice can be a challenge.  While there are an incredible number of cafe’s, brasseries and restaurants in this city it’s hard to separate the tourist traps and rip offs from the gems.

This cosy wine bar is definitely the latter.  From the street, it just looks like a wine shop, but once inside and through the set of archways separating the room, there are a handful of tables and chalkboard menus on the walls.

The food options consist of some high quality cold dishes like cheese and charcuterie plates and a few rotating hot dishes like beef bourguignon and ossobuco as well as some house desserts.

But the main attraction here is the incredible wine selection.  The walls are lined with hundreds of bottles of wine from all of France’s wine regions and beyond and they serve both bottles and by the glass.

The small staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the vast amount of wine on offer, and the place is homey and welcoming.  The atmosphere is somewhere between a coffee house and a wine bar and it gets kind of lively on weekends and evenings when the tables fill up.

This is exactly the type of place I’ve been looking for in Nice and I can’t wait to go back.
