Top Travel Tip: Dupont Circle Farmer’s Market

Today’s Tip: Dupont Circle Farmer’s Market

There are a number of good farmer’s markets in the nation’s capital.  My local one when I lived there was in Dupont circle and it’s fantastic.

The market is held right near the circle on 20th St NW and Connecticut Ave NW.  It runs all year long on Sunday mornings.

There are great seasonal treats all year with local farmers selling fresh produce, gorgeous cut flowers and potted plants – including a specialty orchid cultivator, as well as butchers, cheese makers, and bakers.

The Buffalo meat stall is an unexpected one – they sell buffalo jerky which is the Englishman’s favorite.

There is also a fabulous French bakery stand with the most delicious almond crossants and other pastries and quiches.

There is a real community feel at the market, with lots of families and dogs and young people all mingling and a really well rounded selection of goods.

The Dupont circle metro on the red line is the closest stop and the North exit lets out right at the market.
