Today’s Travel Tip: Salon Berlin, Tel Aviv
This is a cool little shop in Tel Aviv’s Yemenite quarter. They have a mix of super trendy vintage clothes – knit sweaters, patterned dresses, and plaid button-downs seem to be in for fall – and new items.
The new stuff is a line of cotton clothing they make themselves. They have a supply of vintage or vintage inspired cotton fabric, which they make into simple men’ t-shirts and tank tops and boxy women’s tops and dresses.
Think American Apparel but a bit cooler. The fabrics are lovely and soft in stripes and other patterns and the cuts are simple and flattering.
Apparently there is another room in the back where they sell cheap beer for 10 shekels a can and they show movies on Monday nights.
