Top Travel Tip: The Pavilion, London

Today’s tip: The Pavilion

London is full of fabulous parks. But Victoria Park in East London might be my favorite. Overshadowed by the more famous Hyde Park and others,VIctoria Park feels almost private a lot of the time.

With vast, perfectly manicured green lawns, grand, towering trees of every texture, size and shape, walking and biking paths, playgrounds and a pond full of swans, it is a dreamy place to spend the afternoon.

One of the things I like most about the park though, is the Pavilion restaurant located through the Crown Gate entrance.

This little round restaurant looks out onto the pond, has ample outdoor seating for the nice weather, and cosy tables inside for the (more common ) rain.

They serve fantastic coffee and tea along with simple, local, organic breakfast and lunch for reasonable prices, and the setting is utterly peaceful.

The place does get very busy on sunny summer weekends, but most days you can find a table or just find a nearby tree to enjoy your meal under.
